I read an interesting post today over at Brain Pickings about brevity and style. As anyone who knows me will tell you, I am all about brevity. Edit and focus. One sentence without a comma. People now apologize for using commas right to my face. This embarrasses me to no end. Yet in my bed [...]

You need mentors in your life: people to whom your own change and growth is meaningful. I’m very blessed to have several. One is Dr. Jerome Burt, who believes you can change your life by throwing a dinner party.
Here's a completely awesome 20 minute documentary from Ericsson that does an incredible job of doing what the folks at Duarte's Resonate teach about storytelling: show what is, and what could be.

It's also one of the most inspiring things I've watched in a while. If it doesn't make you excited to be alive, check your pulse. If you are in an Occupy Wall Street funk, this will clear your head. It's time to get to work.

Happy Halloween. When you were a kid, your parents may have told you stories about the boogaman. He’s under the bed. He’s gonna gitchoo. Be afraid. Here’s the thing. In your head, you can’t picture the boogaman. Is he on all fours? What color is he? Is he a vegetarian? (Of course he isn’t. He [...]
